Being aware of the significance of the site, the end result was synonymous with the environment and modest to the land on which it sits on. The architecture was greatly inspired by the works of renowned Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. Bawa’s labyrinthine courtyard house in Colombo was the ultimate inspiration for Boonburrh. The house is a deconstruction of a conventional home, pulled apart in logical elements breaking down the barrier between interior and exterior spaces and between the building and its site. It’s the marriage of architecture & landscape in a single continuum of space. CLO Studios’ vision for the project was to have an organic influence present but not a direct relation to one's style. The aim was to link surrounding elements in a non-obtrusive and calming way.
